Meet sweet little Midge

Midge is a 5 year old wire-haired terrier mix. She is scheduled to be spayed in early September, but adoption applications are being accepted now. She will be allowed to leave Clayton County Humane Society very shortly after her spay. Midge came to CCHS after being "dumped" by her former "owner". Midge is a really sweet little girl, but she is clearly nervous and uncomfortable around new people and new situations. Once she feels safe and secure, her truly sweet personality becomes evident. She is nervous around children, so she will need a home where no small children are present. She does very well with other dogs, and she pesters cats but clearly has no intention of actually harming them. Midge is going to need a home where most of her time can be spent with her new family, as she does not like to be left alone and she really needs lot's of attention. Midge is housebroken. For more information, please call Clayton County Humane Society at 770/471-9436. Visit www.claytoncountyhumane.org to see many other animals available for adoption.

A little down

I'm feeling a little down on this lovely Saturday night. I've got lots of views on my Etsy site, but no buyers! I've been running a big sale on my march items and I can't even give the stuff away! :-( I'm thinking I may give the shop till the end of the year and if nothing picks up, I may just close it. I won't stop creating ... I can't stop creating, but I'm putting a lot of effort into this shop with no returns. I know, it's only been about six months ... maybe I'm just feeling a little too down tonight.
I'll probably wake up tomorrow and feel better about it. I hope anyway.

Lovely Rainy Day

You can't really tell in this picture, but it's raining. These are my favorite kind of days. I love waking up and seeing the greyness of the morning and hearing the rain hitting my window. I know a lot of people prefer the sun, but we get so much of that here in the south, that it's a great treat to have the rain. I'm hoping this continues on into my weekend. It's the perfect excuse to stay inside with a cup a tea and work on my art.

Slut and Mommy don't mix

Britney Spears has no self respect. You can be pregnant and wear beautiful clothes ... but how about something tasteful. After all, her kid is going to see this photo someday, and think to themselves "Damn, my mom looks like a slut." I don't know about Britney. All those hormones raging in her body on top of being married to K-Fed (mostly due to k-fed) has drained her of all sense!

Henry the Baby Squirrel

While I was out walking the dog yesterday, a small squiggly thing caught my eye. A teeny tiny baby squirrel had fallen from the nest waaaay up in the trees. Being a lover of all animals, I of course could not leave the poor thing there to die.
I scooped him up, settled him in a shoe box with two bags of lovely warm water and set about to find him a home!
Luckly, there are lots of certified rehabilitators in my area and they all welcomed Henry (that's the baby squirrel) with open arms.
Now a lovely woman named Lynn is taking care of Henry. Once he's on an established eating schedule, he'll travel to Noah's Ark, an area pet sanctuary. I've heard the animals live in luxury there, much like mine do here at home. I miss Henry! I only had him for a day, but I fell in love! But he's in much more skilled hands now. There's a lot that goes into taking care of a newborn squirrel! So here's to Henry and his new life of luxury.

And the sales continue!

Not much going on this weekend. I haven't been at my art table in two days ... but I'm feeling the itch to get back. I've been messing around with my computers for some time now. I think it's time to dump the PC and use the Mac exclusively. But it's such a pain transferring files!
I've decided to cut prices on all my March listings in addition to the buy one get one free sale I'm still running. I'd like to get these pieces outta here before they expire!:-) So we'll see if the biz picks up this weekend!

A spotlight and expiration dates

How exciting! I'm going to be the spotlight artist for the next two weeks on Elisa's site! @ http://www.below14thdesigns.com/. I'm hoping this will draw in some interest to my Etsy shop! And speaking of my shop, I've got several items that will expire soon, so I'm hosting another sale! All items listed in March are Buy-one-get-one-free of equal or lesser value. I need to get this inventory moving. I'm not sure why, but I've got lots of people looking and nobody buying! I'm still uploading new ATCs everyday. Keep checking back :-) Here's the newest: Litte Miss Naughty

Little Busy Bee!

After going through a little slump all week long artwise, I'm Back!!
Jenn over at Stiletto Heights inspired me to pick back up with ATCs. I left them behind a long time ago because I thought it was too much of a pain to get the right size paper, etc... But, she does her ATCs right on playing cards! It makes it much easier to just grab a deck of cards and start creating!
So far, I've got ten done! Holy cow that's a lot. But it feels pretty good to be accomplishing something this weekend (other than laundry LOL!) I'll be posting them all week long at my etsy shop www.heatherly.etsy.com. So keep your eyes peeled! You may find one you just can't live without!

Almost Gone

I can't believe it's August already! When did that happen? The summer is nearly over and it feels like it just began. The time whizzing by like this scares me sometimes. I look back and wonder where it's gone — hoping that I've lived it to the fullest. Soon the cooler weather will take over and the beauty of Fall will take over the South. I must admit, it's my favorite season. I'm missing the warm, thick sweaters and winter jackets. And lets not forget the leaves and how beautiful they are when they're changing colors. While I'm looking forward to the season changing, I'm still looking back wondering where the time has gone.
In other news ... I'm slashing prices in my etsy shop by 50%. I need to get some items moving and stir up some business. I started on etsy to sell, but so far all I've done is buy! LOL

Celeb Dirt

I'm a huge celebrity dirt addict ... I admit it. Everyday I have my list of celeb sites I hit just to check out what stupid thing they've done and how much of it has been caught on camera. That's where Britney Spears comes in. I use to really love her, now I feel sorry for her. How do you go from this to this?
